  • Keynote Speaker – Frank Shorter – Olympic Marathoner

Frank Shorter was the 1972 Olympic gold medalist and 1976 Olympic silver medalist in the marathon and the first chairman of the United States Anti-Doping Agency. He won his first major championship, the NCAA six-mile title, in 1969, followed by the 10,000 meters in the USA-USSR dual meet, both the 10,000 meters and the marathon at the Pan American Games, and the first of four successive victories in Japan's prestigious Fukuoka Marathon. At the 1972 Olympics in Munich, he finished fifth in the 10,000 meters before his victory in the marathon. A 24-time national champion, his Olympic win earned him the Sullivan Award as the nation's top amateur athlete.
