Running a marathon (or a half, or a 10k or a 5k!) is no small feat!

So we encourage you to make a weekend out of it; spend some time checking out all the great exhibitors and vendors at the Scheels Sport & Health Expo on Friday before the race,  listen and learn from the keynote speakers at the OFC Speakers Series, get your carb on and enjoy the camaraderie of the other runners at the Pasta Feed, and then after the race, stick around to see the race results and celebrate with your family, friends and the Mankato community at the post-race Celebration Alley!

Greater Mankato Conventions and Visitors Bureau invites you to be part of the Scheels Sport and Health Expo on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Verizon Wireless Civic Center in Mankato, Minnesota. The Scheels Sport and Health Expo will be held from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. All marathon and half marathon race participants must attend the expo to pick up their race materials.

The Scheels Sport and Health Expo will provide an opportunity to take advantage of free preventive health checks and screenings by the caring professionals from local health providers.

In addition, the evening of the Expo there will be the opportunity to listen to experts in the running field. Please check back to see who will be attending.

We had great feedback on the first year of the community-wide, multi-restaurant Pasta Feed, so we're bringing it back again for 2011!  We want you to get out and enjoy what Greater Mankato has to offer, especially our great food.

You will have several restaurant options for pasta, atmosphere and location so you are guaranteed to find something convenient and delicious! 

Pasta Feed tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 through the online Race Registration system. Buy for yourself and your friends and family -- it isn't just runners who can partake in the Pasta Feed! Spectators need their carbs too.

FYI:  A percentage of the proceeds from the pasta feed tickets will go to the Mankato Family YMCA for youth development. You get your carbs and the kids get some program funding! It's a WIN-WIN!
