About the Relay
Welcome to the heart of the Minnesota River Valley, where you will experience amazing fall views, great people and the bold race you’ve been looking for. Mankato has no shortage of spectators to cheer you on, including cheer teams, aid stops and spectators. Mankato has definitely embraced this as a community event and pulled out all the stops! This race is known for the finish line in the heart of City Center Mankato, athletes get a fabulous finisher medal, a ticket for a free beer, and can partake in food galore, music, massages, personal photos and kids activities for the young or maybe young at heart.
The course is broken down into four sections. Each section will be approximately 6.5 miles long. At the end of each leg of the race, there will be an exchange zone. The person running will come into the exchange zone and transfer the bib containing the timing chip from the current runner to the next runner. The new runner will then exit the exchange zone and begin their section of the race. Please remember to transfer the chip or you will not get an official time!

A note for all you Relay runners, you follow the same course as all the marathoners. Relay exchange zones are as follows:
- Leg 1 = TBA
- Leg 2 = TBA
- Leg 3 = TBA
- Leg 4 = TBA
Shuttle busses will not be provided this year. Relay teams need to provide their own transportation to and from each exchange zone allowing them to cheer on their team members as they enter and exit each exchange zone. Directions will be provided to the relay teams prior to the event.

Which team will have the best team shirt? Only time will tell and we can wait to see what your team comes up with.
How do you get entered?
Take a photo of your relay team and your “Racemobile” and text it to Joy at 773-960-0593 or email it to marathon@visitmankatomn.com before the start of the race. At the end of the race, visit the awards/information tent at the Scheels Post Race Party to see which team earns bragging rights and a team gift basket.
Race Fees
Registration Information
Race registrations are non-refundable as events of this size begin to incur costs months prior to the event.
Military Discount
We are happy to support those who protect us. That’s why we offer $5 off any race registration to those in the military. To receive a military discount send an email to marathon@visitmankatomn.com or call (507) 385-6640.
Gift Registrations
Want to buy this race as a gift for someone else? Visit the online registration page to purchase a registration code that can be given to a runner to register for the event!
Cancellations
Race fees are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred to next year’s race or another event. Sorry, no exceptions. However, your registration can be transferred to another participant up to one week before registration close (October 16). Registration transfers can be done through the online registration page once logged in. There is a $15 participant transfer fee along with any event price difference.
Switch Distances
It is possible to switch races until October 12, 2026. You can change your race distance by returning to the online registration and logging into the account that you used to sign up. Once logged in you will have an option to switch distances using the transfer request. There is a $5 switching fee along with any event price differences.
Referral Program
How it works:
- When you register for your race you are given a unique link to the Mankato Marathon Race Roster Registration page.
- The confirmation page and email prompt you to share this link with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, and Email.
- When someone clicks on the unique link and registers for the Mankato Marathon, Race Roster recognizes that you referred someone to sign up for the race and automatically credits you Race Roster account with $5.
- Funds earned are reflected in your Race Roster account and when you reach $15 worth of referrals from your race or any other race on the Race Roster platform the referral funds are paid out to you by check.
